About the event

Connietitcut's first-ever calisthenic competition will be hosted at 224 S Main Street, New Britain Ct 06501. We invite males & females to participate in this epic event. There are three categories.

  •  1 rep max in weighted pull-up, dip, & push-up.
  1. Your pull-up must be chin over the bar from a dead hang, meaning your elbows are straight and your legs off the floor. Make sure that you finish with a smooth descent, i.e., coming down with control. Your grip is palms facing away.

  1. Your weighted dip must start from the top with locked arms and must hit the bottom of the dip at 90 degrees of flexion of the arms. You must then finish at the top with locked arms.

  1. Push-ups will be done with feet elevated on parallel bars. The weight belt will be placed closer to the upper back, not the lower back.

All weighted movements are done with a welt belt. You may bring your own for personal comfort. We will have these items in stock during the event.

  • Rep outs 1m of chin-ups, 30s rest  1m of push-ups  30s rest finish with 1m of squats.

Essentially, this is done in a circuit fashion. Chin-ups are a  mandatory first-to-go; however, squats or push-ups can be done in any order. You can do push-ups first or squats first.

Chin-up: Reps have to be chin over the bar.  Hands are supinated, which means that your palms are facing towards you. Think about hands asking for soup.

Push-ups: To assess the range of push-ups, we will use yoga blocks to ensure each rep is the same. Likewise, all reps have to have a complete lockout at the top.

Squats - Squatting reps will be done with a below 90 degrees. Lockouts at the top of each rep are needed.

We will have demonstrations for all these movements on what we want to see before the event.

  • Isometric Endurance  Dead hangs, L-sit, Horse Stance longest accumulated time held wins

The dead hang is done with both arms at a complete lockout. Elbows can never bend; you can, however, switch from active to passive hanging. The winner is determined by whoever has the longest held time. If you slip or fall or have your feet touch the ground, that ends the time limit, and that time will be recorded. Chalk is allowed

The L-sit will be done off of low parallel bars; feet must not touch the floor, and legs must be in an l shape.

The horse's stance will be measured with a stick across the legs sitting on top. Should the stick fall, it is considered the end of the event.

Rewards: We will have awards for 1st, 2nd, and third place and medals for places.

- 1st place awards: 1 free month membership to train at the  studio, a free 1hr massage, one free class pass

- 2nd place: 30m massage, one week of classes

- 3rd place: 15m massage and free one one-on-one personal training or nutrition session.
